Joe Rogan is synonymous with the UFC. The comedian has been commentating for the MMA promotion for decades and continues to be called in for the promotion’s biggest shows.
These days Rogan is better known for his podcast which is the most successful in the world with millions of listeners. He has become more influential than the mainstream media and it is not just MMA fans who follow Rogan’s every word.
Bur Rogan is also a big fan of Muay Thai and ONE Championship promoter Chatri Sityodtong extended an invitation to the long term UFC commentator to come and do a play by play at Lumpinee Stadium. In an interview with SCMP he had a message for Rogan,
“Joe, you and I know each other ,come on any time, man. If you want to commentate in the #1 league by far in Muay Thai, absolute killers and monsters which you know already Joe, give me a call.”

Masters of the art
Earlier in the week Rogan had shared some footage of Superlek Kiatmoo9’s win over Rodtang Jitmuangnon. Along with it the comedian and commentator wrote that,
“Muay Thai has the biggest untapped potential in the western world. The talent is there, the excitement is off the charts. I think it’s just going to take the right organization with deep pockets to make it as huge as it deserves to be over here. Absolutely amazing fight between two masters of the art.”
Rogan has black belts in BJJ and Taekwondo but does not appear to have much Muay Thai experience. But ONE Championship’s John Wayne Parr taught him a few tricks and techniques during a recent trip to the US.

Big platform
Rogan has 17.9 million followers on Instagram and 364,000 of them clicked like under the highlights of Superlek fighting Rodtang. Many more would have surely viewed the footage without interacting.
The Thai language broadcast of ONE Friday Fights 34 has received 1.6mn views despite the show being broadcast live by Channel 7 in Thailand where it was the most watched Muay Thai event this year. It is clear that Rodtang’s fight with Superlek was one of the biggest the sport has ever seen.
But while viewers in Thailand are accustomed to watching live Muay Thai in the evenings the sport remains relatively obscure in the US. Getting mentioned by one of the most influential commentators in the country will help to change that and Chatri would like Rogan to come and do a play by play at Lumpinee Stadium.
