Kana Watanabe will face Liz Carmouche in a flyweight fight at Bellator 261. The bout at the Mohegan Arena in Uncasville looks set to be a title eliminator.

Watanabe (10-0-1) is coming off back to back wins for the American promotion. The Rizin veteran beat Alejandra Lara by split decision at Bellator 255 and stopped Ilara Joanne at Bellator Japan.

Her opponent Carmouche (15-7) has fought for the UFC 125lbs and 135lbs titles but came up short on both occasions. She’s been in with the likes of Valentina Shevchenko, Miesha Tate and Ronda Rousey and, like her opponent, is coming off back to back Bellator wins.

The card will be headlined by an interim heavyweight title bout. Tim Johnson (15-6) is taking on Valentin Moldavsky (10-1). In the middleweight division Christian Edwards (4-0) has been matched with Ben Parrish (4-2).
