Kanata Murata will make her sophomore octagon appearance on June 19th. She faces Virna Jandiroba at UFC Fight Night 194
Murata (12-1) made her promotional debut last November. The Invicta FC and Rizin veteran scored a decision win over Randa Markos at UFC Vegas 14.
The 27 year old is riding an eight fight winning streak. But Murata is not currently ranked and will be looking to break into the top 15 at strawweight with a second UFC win.
Facing her will be Jandiroba (16-2), a BJJ black belt who also rose through the ranks at Invicta FC. The Brazilian is currently ranked at #13 having won two out of her four UFC fights.
Jandiroba was the reigning Invicta FC strawweight champion when she signed with the UFC. She vacated that title in order to compete in the octagon.
No venue is confirmed for the event but it is likely to take place in Las Vegas. The main event is a welterweight bout pitting Matt Brown (22-18) against Dhiego Lima (15-8).
