As if booking a 12 fight New Year’s Eve card headlined by an exhibition boxing match between Tenshin Nasukawa and Floyd Mayweather wasn’t enough Rizin also put on a fight card this morning in Tokyo.
In the main event Satoru Kitaoka (42-18-9) scored a split decision win over Tatsuya Kawajiri (36-13-2) in a clash between two Japanese veterans. Meanwhile Kai Asakura (12-1) avenged the only loss of his career with a decision win over Je Hoon Moon (11-12).
It was a very good morning for Mikuru Asakura (9-1-0-1). He showcased his potential with a second round stoppage of the highly experienced Takeshi Inoue (24-12), a flying knee in the second round did the damage.
