Lea Bivins will finally be making her ONE Championship debut this month. The American has had to wait longer than unexpected after her last opponent pulled out just hours before fight night.

Ahead of ONE 159 she really got in Zeba Bano’s face at the weigh ins. It seems Bivins did such a good job of intimidating the Indian that she withdrew from the fight with the American accusing her opponent of being a ‘loser’ in the aftermath.

At ONE on Prime Video 3 she has been matched with Noelle Grandjean according to MMA Mania. Both fighters will be making their promotional debuts but the Thai / Dutch atomweight has more experience.

Bivins has trained with Angela Lee and her family in Hawaii. She holds a purple belt in BJJ and has had success as an amateur, competing on the US national team alongside Victoria Lee.

Grandjean (3-0) has a black belt in judo and has won national championships in the sport in both Thailand and Switzerland. She made her pro debut last October and is fighting out of Tiger Muay Thai in Phuket.

All Brazilian

As previously announced John Lineker will be making the first defence of his bantamweight belt at ONE on Prime Video 3. He has been booked to face fellow Brazilian Fabricio Andrad in a fight that will not headline the card.

Lineker is a UFC veteran who won the belt by knocking out Bibiano Fernandes earlier this year. Andrade only got his opportunity to fight for ONE Championship because he is based in Thailand and the promotion started using Bangkok as a base for its events during the pandemic.

But he has seized it with both hands, winning five fights out of five to establish himself as the #2 contender in the bantamweight division. By contrast Lineker made his name with the UFC where he was one of the most devastating flyweights on the roster ands won four fights out of four for ONE Championship.

Inaugural title

Meanwhile the inaugural lightweight Muay Thai title will be on the line when Regian Eersel will face Sinsamut Klinmee at . Both men are undefeated in their ONE Championship careers and Eersel already holds a title.

Eersel is the lightweight kickboxing champion. The Dutchman is the only fighter to have ever held the belt and has successfully defended it four times.

His background might be in kickboxing but Eersel does have prior experience of Muay Thai. He was the Lion Fight super middleweight champion before signing with ONE Championship.

Other changes

The card had originally been set to be headlined by a middleweight title fight between champion Reinier de Ridder and challenger Shamil Abdulaev. That bout appears to have been scrapped and has not been rescheduled yet.

Also added to the card this week was a submission grappling title contest. Kade Ruotolo faces Uaki Kurzhev in a bout that will have the inaugural lightweight belt on the line.

Also competing for gold and glory are Superlek Kiatmoo9 and Panpayak Jitmuangnon. They meet in the final of the flyweight Muay Thai Grand Prix with a shot at reigning champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon on the line.

Monthly events

These events take place every month and feature some of the biggest names on the roster. In August Demetrious Johnson avenged his loss to Adriano Moraes with a win at ONE on Prime Video 1.

Last weekend Xiong Jing Nan beat Angela Lee in their trilogy bout which headlined ONE on Prime Video 2. Both the previous events took place in Singapore and this will be the promotion’s first event in Kuala Lumpur since 2019.
