When Luo Zhou Jiang Cuo wins it is normally by way of triangle choke. He’s won three fights for ONE Hero Series and all of them have ended in the same fashion.
Opponent Li Hong Jiang might have known what was coming at OHS 8 in Beijing yesterday. But he was powerless to prevent Luo Zhou from securing his trademark submission in the second round.
Luo Zhou is one of the tallest fighters in the featherweight division and the height difference was immediately obvious. Li Hong looked for takedowns in the opening round to try and nullify his opponent’s reach advantage.
But Luo Zhou is very comfortable on his back and after spending much of the round in bottom position he was able to counter a heel hook attempt, mount Li Hong and take his back.
The bell sounded to save Li Hong but the warning signs were there. In the second stanza a similar situation arose with Luo Zhou on his back but this time the submission specialist was ruthless.
Luo Zhou threw up those long legs and wrapped them around Li Hong’s neck, locking in a triangle choke. The tap followed shortly with the winner improving to 5-2 while the loser dropped to 2-3.
