A former Deep-Jewels atomweight champion will be in action at Shooto 30th Anniversary Tour in Tokyo next month. Mina Kurobe faces Ye Ji Lee in a catchweight contest at the Korakuen Hall on July 15th.
Kurobe (12-5) celebrated her 42nd birthday last year. She is coming off a split decision defeat to Tomo Maesawa at Deep-Jewels 22 last December that saw her lose her atomweight title.
She will be making her Shooto debut next month and has been matched with Korea’s Lee (3-5). The Korean teenager holds a win over former Deep-Jewels 99lbs champion Satoko Shinashi and has been in with some very experienced opponents.
Also added to the card today was a featherweight bout between Jin Aoi (6-2-1) and Taison Naito (9-7-1). The former will be looking to bounce back after two successive defeats, including an unsuccessful challenge for the Shooto featherweight title.
Meanwhile Kenji Kato (8-5-0) faces Kota Onojima (11-4-1) in the bantamweight division. The latter made his Shooto debut over a decade ago and will be looking for a third straight win since returning to competitive MMA in 2017.
As previously announced a Japanese veteran will face an up and coming European star at Shooto 30th Anniversary Tour in Tokyo. Former featherweight champion Takeshi Inoue faces Dutchman Duane van Helvoirt at the Korakuen Hall.
There will also be three significant bouts in the bantamweight division on the card. Takumi Tamaru faces Takahiro Ichijo while Hayato Ishii goes up against Guts Takato and Kazuma Kuramoto takes on Tomoya Hirakawa.
