The interim flyweight title will be on the line at Pancrase 324. Nori Date and Takayo Hashi will go head to head at Shinkiba Studio Coast on October 17th.
Sidy Rocha became the promotion’s first ever flyweight champion at Pancrase 304 in 2019. But the Brazilian has yet to defend her title, possibly due to pandemic related travel restrictions.
Rocha has been active in her native Brazil but has not been on good form, winning one out of her last four fights. In her absence the promotion is set to crown an interim champion.
Date (4-4) is coming off a decision win over veteran boxer Raika Emiko at Pancrase 321. She has only competed in MMA twice in the last five years.
Hashi (17-8-1) already challenged for the flyweight title once but dropped a decision to Rocha at Pancrase 304. She is a former Deep-Jewels bantamweight champion and has also challenged for belts with Strikeforce and Invicta.
Last week Shinkiba Studio Coast announced it would be closing down. Pancrase 323 is set for the venue on September 12th while Pancrase 325 will be there on December 12th.
