Rahul Raju has a new opponent at ONE: ‘Edge of Greatness’. The Singapore based Indian will now be facing Furqan Cheema at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Friday night.
There are currently 11 fights on the card after ONE Championship found a replacement for Ahmed Mujtaba, Raju’s original opponent. Cheema will be making his promotional debut on Friday night.
Raju (6-4) hails from India but is based in Singapore. He lost his first three fights for the promotion but is coming off a submission win at ONE: ‘Enter the Dragon’.
Cheema (3-0) comes from Pakistan but is based in England. He also holds an 8-1 amateur record and has not lost a fight since 2013 although none of his previous opponents have impressive records.
ONE: ‘Edge of Greatness’ will be headlined by a Muay Thai title fight. Nong-O Gaiyanghadao is making the third defence of his bantamweight belt against compatriot Saemapetch Fairtex in the main event.
The event also features a lightweight bout between Ev Ting and Amir Khan while Colbey Northcutt will be making her ONE Championship debut in Singapore. She has been matched with Putri Padmi in a flyweight bout on November 22nd.
Other significant bouts on the card include a bantamweight fight pitting Bruno Pucci against Shuya Kamikubo.
