Rizin 32 is set for Okinawa on November 20th and the card will feature a super atomweight fight pitting Rena Kubota against Miyuu Yamamoto. Mizuki Oshiro will also be making her promotional debut although she doesn’t have an opponent yet.
Rena (11-3) has been out of action for a year but is currently on a three fight winning streak. The super atomweight Grand Prix finalist will be looking to work her way back into contention for a title shot.
Yamamoto (6-5) turned 47 this year but is still holding her own against some of the top fighters in the division. She fought for the 108lbs title at Rizin 28 but was submitted by Ayaka Hamasaki.
Rena actually submitted Yamamoto in 2016 and is excited to be fighting her for the second time,
“It’s been over a year since my last fight. I love Okinawa and visit here every year. I’m happy to be fighting Miyuu here once again. I feel that this is destiny. We started the movement, we will being it to the next level. This is an important fight for both of our careers.”
It was Yamamoto’s first fight and she now calls Okinawa home. The veteran would love to get revenge on Rena for that debut defeat,
“I lost my MMA debut fight and moved to Okinawa with my family after that. I have many friends who I can call family here. I want to show them the grown me in front of them. I will get the revenge.”
The other two fights confirmed for the card are in the flyweight division. Mitsuhisa Sunabe (29-9-4) faces Yutaro Muramoto (8-5-2) and Tomohiro Adaniya (16-15-3) takes on Yuichi Miyagi (16-10-1).
Oshiro (3-4) normally competes at 105lbs and is based in Okinawa. She is coming off a win over Mizuki Furuse at Deep-Jewels 34.
