Yesterday Oron Kahlon missed weight and called opponent Javid Basharat ‘a terrorist’. Today the Israeli was on the receiving end of a brutal beatdown from the Afghan who finally put him out of his misery with a third round submission.
Both fighters came into this contest with undefeated records. But from the moment Basharat caught a kick and took Kahlon down in the first round there was only going to be one winner.
He followed up with some heavy ground and pound. The London based Afghan was showing a lovely variety of attacks from top position while goading his opponent with questions like ‘why isn’t he talking?’
The 26-year-old continued the onslaught as he switched between body shots, sharp elbows and punches to the face – leaving Kahlon dripping blood. The punishment continued to the end of the round with the Israeli barely making it to the bell.
Gorgeous ground and pound from @JavidBasharat 👊

UFC contract
Having spent the bulk of the second stanza controlling his opponent on the ground Basharat found the finish in the third. He toppled his opponent with calf kicks before pouncing into Kahlon’s guard and continuing the barrage from top position.
Short, heavy elbows wore Kahlon down and helped to present an opportunity for the guillotine. Basharat locked it in tight and got the tap with less than 50 seconds to go in the fight.
His perfect professional record extends to 11-0 while Khalon slides to 16-1. The Afghan earned a UFC contract with his performance while Kahlon’s reputation took a major hit in more ways than one.
Closing out the dominate performance with a 3️⃣rd round submission 💪

Bad night
Elsewhere it was a bad night for the Chinese contingent. Bantamweight Xiao Long (16-3) lost a unanimous decision against Cristian Quinonez (16-7).
Flyweight Yan Qihui (20-4) was submitted by a guillotine in the second round from Brazil’s Karine Silva (14-4) as ‘Queen Kong’ sees her 7-fight winning streak snapped.
Xie Bin (8-3) was unfortunate to drop a split decision to Olivier Murad (6-0). The American arguably did more damage on the feet but the Chinese fighter landed several takedowns and showed solid ground control.
