Promoting products

Rika hasn’t fought in two years but continues to travel, train and teach while sharing updates with her 240,000 Instagram followers. She is even more popular over on Facebook with 459,000 fans.

Rika has fought nine times for ONE Championship winning four of those fights. She might not have enjoyed sustained success as a fighter but she used the platform to amass an enormous online audience.

It has helped Rika to make a living from promoting products online. She is also in demand for seminars and has definitely helped to generate interest in MMA among a more mainstream audience in Thailand.

First and foremost

In the modern era savvy fighters are very careful about how they manage their social media profiles. Rika could probably give a seminar on how to acquire a large online audience and keep them engaged.

But first and foremost she is a fighter who has four ONE Championship wins to her name with all of them coming inside the opening round. Three of Rika’s losses came by way of decision and the only fighter to ever stop or submit her was Itsuki Hirata, who also has a big online audience of her own.

Anyone in Bangkok who wants to join an MMA class with Rika should head down to The Peninsula at 6pm, although check the timetable first because she is not teaching every day. The hotel sits on the banks of the Chao Phraya River.

The Riverside shopping district is one of Bangkok’s classier areas. One of the nation’s most recognizable female fighters will be teaching their until the end of the month.
