Satoshi Ishii has a date and an opponent for his PFL debut. It will be the fourth fight of the year for the Japanese heavyweight and all of the bouts have taken place in different countries under different promotions.

At PFL 3 on June 2nd he goes up against reigning heavyweight champion Philipe Lins. The promotion utilizes a tournament format meaning that the title will not be on the line until the season’s finale.

Ishi (20-8-1) will be looking to take the first step towards winning the tournament which has $1 million USD in prize money. Lins (14-3) knows exactly what that takes having won Season 2.

The other heavyweights in the tournament are Francimar Barroso, Muhammad Dereese, Denis Golbov, Jared Rosholt, Ante Delija, Ben Edwards, Ali Isaev, Valdrin Istrefi, Alex Nicholson and Kevin Tiller.

PFL 3 is set for NYCB Live in Long Island on June 6th. It means Ishii, who has already won three times this year, will have a couple of months to prepare for what promises to be a serious test.
