Nasrat Haqparast has a new opponent and a new date for his next fight. The Afghan lightweight will now be facing Bobby Green at UFC 271 on February 12th.

He had originally been booked to fight John Makdessi the following week. But that bout has fallen through and instead Haqparast finds himself fighting on one of the biggest cards of the year.

Haqparast (13-4) suffered a setback at UFC 266 when he dropped a decision to Dan Hooker. He won’t have to wait too long for the opportunity to bounce back from his third defeat inside the octagon.

Green (28-12-1) is a seasoned veteran who has been on the UFC roster since 2013. He is coming off a stoppage win over Al Iaquinta at UFC 268 which earned him a $50,000 USD bonus.

The event is set to be headlined by a rematch pitting middleweight champion Israel Adesanya against Robert Whittaker for the second time. It will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and be broadcast on pay per view.
