Seksan Or Kwanmuang has responded to Liam Harrison’s challenge. The English fighter declared on X, formerly known as Twitter, that he wanted to face the Thai in his final fight.

Harrison told fans that Seksan was the only fight he was currently interested in. The two compete at slightly different weight classes but that clearly won’t be an issue.

Harrison’s fights for ONE Championship have all been at bantamweight which is 145lbs, with hydration tests. Seksan tends to fight at 140lbs and made it clear he was ready for the fight as long as it took place at his favoured weight.

He told Harrison that,

“I’m ready to meet you at 140lbs.”

Absolute honour

Harrison is still recovering from knee surgery and had to pull out of a Muay Thai bout with John Lineker at ONE Fight Night 18. The English fighter has been very up front about the fact that he is past his prime.

He ruled out facing younger fighters like Jonathan Haggerty and Nico Carrillo. Harrison definitely wants to face Seksan though and told the Thai veteran,

“It would be an absolute honour for me sir. 140 no problem see you next year legend.”

Not ready

The opportunity to face UFC veteran John Lineker in a Muay Thai match must have been very difficult for Harrison to turn down. He needed knee surgery after his loss to Nong-O Gaiyanghadao last year and recovery is clearly taking longer than expected.

Harrison wasn’t ready to face Lineker next month but he clearly believes he will be able to return to the ring at some stage in 2024. Seksan fought eight times this year and will not want to sit around waiting for the Englishman.

Seksan’s unwillingness to move up in weight to challenge for the bantamweight belt rules him out of title contention. He is determined to compete at 140lbs and so far ONE Championship has been able to find him plenty of opponents.

Seksan has fought Rodtang before and would definitely be a contender for his flyweight belt if he was able to drop down 5lbs. He seems reluctant to do that and a catchweight fight with Harrison might turn out to be the best solution for everyone.
