If Seo Hee Ham is upset about being overlooked for a title shot she isn’t letting it show. Matchmakers decided it would be better to have Angela Lee move up in weight to challenge for the strawweight title then defend her atomweight belt against the Korean.

Ham doesn’t appear to currently have a fight booked and she has been feeling nostalgic, at least if her Instagram account is anything to be judged by. The 35 year old has shared some old photos including some of her with her first ever title.

We aren’t sure how old this pic is but the Korean is clearly demonstrating some impressive flexibility:

Back to back

Ham is coming off back to back decision wins over Denice Zamboanga and is currently #2 in the atomweight rankings. Given that the #1 ranked Stamp Fairtex was submitted by Angela Lee in a title fight earlier this year the Korean is surely next in line.

But the decision to have Lee move up a division in order to challenge Xiong Jing Nan has potentially thrown a spanner in the works. The atomweight queen has clearly been bulking up and if she is going to return to the division she currently rules the champion will probably need to lose some muscle.

We have seen Lee move seamlessly between the two divisions in the past, although she has lost her last two fights at strawweight. But she is a couple of years older now and has also given birth to her first child which might make it more difficult to get back down to atomweight.

Two divisions

So there is the possibility Lee might decide to stay at strawweight if she can beat Xiong at ONE on Prime Video 2 next week. But the lure of ruling two divisions is sure to prove attractive, it just means that contenders could face a long wait if the champion has two different belts to defend.

Stamp faces off with the #5 ranked Jihin Radzuan at ONE on Prime Video 2. So the winner of that contest will clearly be in the title mix at atomweight.

Ham already has an impressive collection of titles to her name. She has held the Deep-Jewels atomweight title, the Road FC atomweight title and the Rizin super atomweight title.

Given that only a handful of promotions promote atomweight fights it is a remarkable achievement and she would love to add the ONE Championship strap to that collection.

Her last win came on the ONE: ‘X’ card in March when she beat Denice Zamboanga in a rematch. Both Radzuan and Stamp were also both in action that day so Ham should be getting another chance to showcase her flexibility inside the ONE Championship cage sooner rather than later.
