Shayilan Nuerdanbieke made it three wins in a row at UFC Vegas 64. The Chinese featherweight needed just over a minute to finish Darrick Minner with ground and pound at the Apex Centre in Las Vegas.
The American landed a solid looking left low kick in the first action of the fight. The Chinese southpaw responded with an attempt at a push kick off his back leg.
Minner then threw a right kick to the body but recoiled in pain immediately afterwards. It appeared he might have suffered some sort of knee injury but Nuerdanbieke wasn’t hanging around to find out.
The Chinese fighter jumped on Minner immediately and went to work with elbows from top position as his opponent turtled up. The referee called off the contest at the 1:07 mark to hand Nuerdanbieke his third UFC win.

No sympathy
With the win he improves to 38-10 while Minner drops to 26-14. It doesn’t sound like Nuerdanbieke has too much sympathy for his opponent as speaking afterwards he said,
“I realized (that he was hurt) and the referee didn’t signal to stop the fight so I decided to move forwards and be aggressive and finish the fight myself. This is my first finish in the UFC, I tried in my previous fights but everybody is so good. I’m happy I got my first finish.”
This is his second fight of the year but he plans to take an extended break before returning to the octagon,
“I will return to China right after this fight because I’ve been in the US for 6 months and I miss my home and my family so much so probably next May or June I will return to the octagon.”

Best of the rest

She landed a hard right hand early in the third round and Rodriguez never recovered, despite protesting the eventual stoppage. Afterwards Lemos stated she was ready to step in if either Weili Zhang or Carla Esparza suffers an injury ahead of UFC 281.
