A new atomweight contender emerged at ONE Friday Fights 7. So Yul Kim choked out Souris Manfredi in the opening round to extend her winning streak to five and show that Seo Hee Ham is not the only Korean to watch out for in the division.
Kim has fought five times on ONE Championship cards and has won the last four. She was up against an opponent who is well known in the world of Muay Thai but was making her MMA debut.
The French fighter might have been expected to enjoy an advantage in striking terms. But Kim wobbled her with a hard right hand at the very start of the opening round.
After some striking exchanges Kim instigated a clinch and secured a body lock. She eventually tripped the Muay Thai Thai veteran to the canvass and went to work from inside Manfredi’s guard.
She moved into mount and locked in a guillotine choke. Manfredi did not tap but it quickly became clear that she was unconscious, the finish coming at. the 4:12 mark. With the win Kim improves to 7-1 while her opponent drops to 0-1.
So Yul Kim 🇰🇷 puts Souris Manfredi to SLEEP via first-round guillotine choke in her ONE debut! 💤#ONEFridayFights7
