Road FC 65 has a date and a venue. The event will take place at Anyang Gymnasium on August 26th and will feature the semi finals of the bantamweight and lightweight tournaments.

The draw was announced in the aftermath of Road FC 64 last month. That event took place in Wonju with all eight quarter finals taking place on the same night.

Former Road FC bantamweight champion Soo Chul Kim (19-7-1) is the only Korean fighter left in the 135lbs tournament. He has been matched with Bruno Azevedo (19-3) in what looks to be the pick of the semi finals.

On the other side of the bantamweight bracket Akira Haraguchi (9-4) takes on Radzhab Shaydullaev (7-0). The latter became the first fighter to ever beat Rizin veteran Ji Yong Yang at Road FC 64.

Lightweight tournament

The lightweight semi finals are also set. Nandin-Erdene Munguntsooj has been matched with Shutaro Debana while Mark Moleke takes on Artur Soloviev with Korean fighters conspicuous by their absence.

Moleke (14-9) extended his winning streak to four when Sang Kwon Han was disqualified for hitting him with an illegal knee at Road FC 64. The Cameroonian faces Soloviev (9-6) who also beat a Korean opponent in the quarter finals to make if four victories in a row.

Debana (9-4) was the last fighter to beat Moleke. The Shooto veteran takes a three fight winning streak into his semi final bout with Korean based Mongolian Munguntsooj (16-8).

Long running

The rest of the card has not been announced. Road FC was founded in 2010 and has seen numerous fighters like Yui Chul Nam and Kyung Ho Kang go on to enjoy success with the UFC.

In 2020 a spinoff promotion with modified rules called ARC was launched, although that appears to have folded. This will be the promotion’s third event of the year.
