Sunabe faces Kitakata in strawweight title match at Pancrase 307
The reigning strawweight King of Pancrase will defend his title on July 21st. Mitsuhisa Sunabe has been booked to take on challenger Daichi Kitakata in a rematch at Studio Coast.
Sunabe (29-8-4) saw his 16 fight winning streak snapped at Rizin 13. However his Pancrase title was not on the line that day so he remains the promotion’s 115lbs champion.
At Pancrase 307 the 39 year old will make the third defence of his strawweight title. Kitakata (19-8-1) will have the opportunity to avenge a 2016 defeat at the hands of the champion, he’s won four in a row since.
As previously announced the event will be headlined by a bantamweight title bout between newly crowned champion Rafael Silva and challenger Yuto Hokamura.
It will also feature a flyweight title fight between Shohei Masumizu and Masatatsu Ueda. The vacant belt awaits the winner.
Meanwhile featherweight Yuta Sato will be looking to extend his eight fight winning streak when he faces Taichi Nakajima.
