Vietnamese reality TV star and mixed martial artist Bi Nguyen has signed with ONE Championship. She was last seen competing on Season 37 of the television series Survivor but pulled out after suffering a knee injury which she was concerned could jeopardize her fighting career.

The 29 year old holds a 4-3 MMA record and is a former King of the Cage atomweight title challenger who also held the Legacy FC strawweight belt during her amateur career. Now a permanent resident in the US, she was born in Vietnam and lived there until the age of 9.

ONE: ‘Immortal Triumph’ is set for Ho Chi Minh on September 24th and is one of 24 events on the promotion’s current calendar. Nguyen is likely to feature on the card according to CEO / Founder Chatri Sityodtong,

“I foresee her as the next superstar in mixed martial arts who will represent Vietnam on the global stage because of her exceptional talent and impressive skill set. We will be seeing her inside the ONE Championship cage very soon. Along with ONE featherweight world champion Martin Nguyen, Bi Nguyen will be an essential part of ONE Championship’s efforts to bring the organization closer to the Vietnamese people. In addition, we would like to showcase both of them as the country’s biggest international martial arts heroes, as we plan to host our first event in Vietnam in September of 2019. ”

Nguyen made her amateur debut in 2014 and fought six times before turning professional. She trains out of the legendary Jackson Wink camp in Albuquerque alongside the likes of Michelle Waterson and Holly Holm.

ONE Championship is in need of a new atomweight champion as Angela Lee has moved up to strawweight. Top contenders Mei Yamaguchi and Jihin Radzuan are both in action at ONE: ‘Destiny of Champions’ tomorrow night and Nguyen looks set to be in the title mix in 2019.
