Syuri Kondo has been released by the UFC. The Japanese strawweight did not compete at all in 2020 but has lost her last three fights.

Kondo’s record stands at 6-3. She tasted victory at UFC Fight Night 117, beating Chan Mi Jeon by split decision at the Saitama Super Arena but it was downhill all the way from there.

Her sophomore octagon outing lasted less than a minute. At UFC Fight Night 129 in Lima the former Strawweight Queen of Pancrase was stopped by Poliana Botelho.

At UFC Fight Night Beijing she was matched with Xiaonan Yan, dropping a decision to the Chinese strawweight. Kondo’s most recent defeat came at the hands of Ashley Yoder who beat her by decision at UFC Greenville.

In recent months the 32 year old appears to have switched focus from MMA to pro wrestling. It remains to be seen whether she will look to continue her competitive career outside of the UFC.
