Teruto Ishihara will be back in action on July 25th. The UFC veteran is heading to Houston to take on Levi Mowles at Fury FC 48.
Ishihara (10-8-2) has not managed to win a fight since 2017. After being cut by the UFC following a three fight losing streak he returned to Japan and was outpointed by Kazuma Sone at Shooto 0131.
He returns to the US to take on one of the best bantamweights on the domestic scene there. Levi Mowles (14-4) is the reigning 135lbs champion with CFFC, the promotion which helped Aung La Nsang to make his name.
Ishihara appears to be training for this fight at Team Alpha Male in California. He is a colourful character who made headlines for styling himself as a ‘ladies man’ during his UFC stint.
He earned a UFC contract after finishing as the joint winner of TUF Japan, drawing with Mizuto Hirota in the final of the featherweight tournament. The Japanese fighter got his career in the octagon off to a good start, winning his first two fights by stoppage.
But things went downhill fast from there as Ishihara lost five out of his next six UFC fights. The 29 year old will be looking to get his career back on track at Fury FC 48.
