Angel’s Fighting Championship (AFC) will introduce three new titles at their upcoming event.
AFC 12: ‘Hero of the Belt’ is set for June 10th at the KBS Arena Hall in Seoul. The promotion’s inaugural lightweight, bantamweight and middleweight titles will all be on the line.
Kang Jung-Min (8-10-2) faces Yoo Sang-Hoon (5-0) for the inaugural lightweight crown. The former has been a staple of the MMA scene in Japan and Korea for the past decade since debuting for Vale Tudo Japan in 2009.
Sang-Hoon has won four fights out of four for AFC. He fights out of Busan Team Mad and burst onto the scene with a decision win over an experienced Brazilian opponent at Heat 39.
In the second title tilt added to the event, Korean Zombie MMA’s Seo Jin-Seo (5-2) will face off against undefeated finishing machine Song Young-Jae (3-0-1) for the bantamweight championship. This will be a rematch of their fight at AFC 6 in early 2018.
The first encounter was closely contested with leg kicks and scrambles dominating the action. Around the halfway point of the middle round, Song clinch and executed a beautiful trip takedown into side control. Seo hip escaped and tried to scramble out but Song slid his arm under the chin and rolled away from the fence to get the tap.
Additionally, Hong Kong’s Sasha Palatnikov (3-1) and Team MAD’s Son Sung-Won (9-6) will battle it out for the middleweight strap. The former is coming off a win at AFC 10 while his opponent makes his promotional debut.
As previously announced an openweight kickboxing match between David Mihajlov and Choi Hong-Man is also set for AFC 12.
