At an online press conference yesterday Rizin confirmed its next two events. They will take place in Yokohama on consecutive days next month.
The events are set for Yokohama on August 9th and August 10th. They will both take place at the brand new Pia Arena in Yokohama but no fights have been confirmed.
The 10,000 capacity arena only opened this year. From July 10th coronavirus, or Covid-19 restrictions, in Japan will be eased to allow a maximum of 5,000 people to attend events, meaning that the venue could potentially be half full.
Rizin is currently attempting to crowd fund in order to raise money. Neither event has a fight card at present but bouts are likely to be announced after the general public has been given the opportunity to donate online.
The fight cards are likely to consist exclusively of Japanese or Japanese based fighters. Quarantine requirements and travel restrictions mean the promotion will be able to bring in fighters from overseas.
Rizin 22 had been set for the Yokohama Arena on April 19th. Meanwhile Rizin 23 was booked for May 17th in Sendai but both events were postponed.
The promotion has not put on an event since Rizin 21 in February.
