There will be two title fights on the URCC 77: ‘Raw Fury’ card. The event is set for Cove Manila on April 27th and the welterweight and middleweight belts will be on the line.
Chris Hofmann (7-1) will be making the fourth defence of his middleweight title. He faces Musa Conteh (2-3) who has fought for the URCC once before, losing by DQ due to an illegal elbow.
Meanwhile newly crowned URCC welterweight champion John Adajar (5-1) will make the first defence of his title. The identity of his opponent has not yet been disclosed.
Coincidentally Adajar’s only career loss came at the hands of Hoffman. Meanwhile Conteh will be looking for some vengeance that has been nearly two years in the making, having been controversially DQed on a URCC card in 2017.
Hofmann also holds the URCC light heavyweight title and has won seven straight fights since losing to an experienced Korean in his pro debut. He did not fight at all in 2018 and will be returning to the URCC cage after a 20 month absence.
The URCC helped launch the careers of numerous Filipino stars including Eduard Folayang, Honorio Banario and Kevin Belingon, all of whom are former champions. The promotion has been putting on fight cards since 2003.
