Valentina Shevchenko has continued to do what she always does since her surprise loss to Alex Grasso at UFC 285. The former flyweight champion has been travelling and training and the latest stop on this journey is Vietnam.

In the week that a rematch with Grasso was confirmed Shevchenko has shared photos of herself in Da Nan, Hoi Nan and Saigon. Five days ago she announced on Instagram that she had just received an exciting phone call.

Earlier today it was revealed that she would be rematching Grasso in September, so no prizes for guessing what that phone call was about.

Making headlines

Shevchenko has also spent time training at Saigon Sports Club. It is one of the biggest MMA facilities in South East Asia and the likes of Cung Le and Martin Nguyen have also visited.

Last week she was in Phuket, training at Tiger Muay Thai. It is a camp that Shevchenko has been using since deciding to relaunch her MMA career back in 2010, she also had several Muay Thai fights on the island that year.

Last month Shevchenko was in Hong Kong. She also made headlines by deciding to do her fight camp for the first Grasso fight at various gyms in Tokyo.

Three languages

In the aftermath of UFC 285 she travelled to Hawaii. Shevchenko just seems to love travelling but she is not your typical tourist, thee 35 year old speaks at least three different languages fluently.

The rematch with Grasso is set for September 16th so Shevchenko still has plenty of time to decide where she is going to train for that fight. There is no pay per view booked for that date but the T-Mobile Arena has reportedly been reserved.

There has never been a UFC event in the venue that wasn’t a numbered pay per view card. So fans will be intrigued to see what the September 16th lineup looks like.

There will be at least one title fight though with Shevchenko set to rematch Grasso. The well travelled 35 year old will be looking to reclaim her title and it will be interesting to see where she decides to train for that fight.
