Chinese bantamweight Pingyuan Liu will have an opportunity to break into the top ten next month. He faces #3 ranked Ray Borg at UFC on ESPN 2 which is set for Philadelphia on March 30th.

Liu (15-4) is currently training at Tiger Muay Thai in Phuket to prepare for this fight. The 26 year old is riding a ten fight win streak that includes two victories under the UFC banner.

Borg (11-3) challenged Demetrious Johnson for the flyweight title in 2017. He saw three fights fall through last year, and had to pull out of UFC 223 after suffering an eye injury when Conor McGregor and his team attacked a bus.

Liu is coming off a split decision win over Martin Day at UFC Fight Night 141 in Beijing. He broke his hand during that fight but appears to have made a full recovery from that injury.

UFC on ESPN 2 will be headlined by a lightweight bout between Edson Barboza and Justin Gaethje. It will be the promotion’s first show in Philadelphia since 2011.

However it won’t feature the city’s most famous MMA fighter. Eddie Alvarez is no longer signed to the UFC, he will be in action at ONE: ‘A New Era’ in Tokyo that weekend.
