Angela Lee is set to make a big announcement about her future later this week. We still don’t know if the reigning ONE Championship atomweight queen will continue fighting but today she wanted to raise awareness about a cause that is clearly very close to her heart.
It is over a year since her last fought but she has been very busy supporting various cause and has even launched her own foundation. Today Angela wanted to remind people that,
“September is suicide prevention month.”

Raising awareness
Next month she will be flying in to Singapore to attend ONE Fight Night 14. But before that Angela will be participating in the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Ouahu Walk.
She explains the significance of the event,
“These events give people the courage to open up about their own connections to the cause, and a platform to create a culture that’s smarter about mental health. Friends, family members, neighbors and coworkers walk side-by-side, supporting each other and in memory of those we’ve lost.”

Good causes
She might have been away from the Asian MMA spotlight for some time but Angela has been working tirelessly to support a variety of causes in Hawaii. Earlier this month she was raising money and asking people to donate clothing and other essentials for victims of the fires in Maui.
Angela has also launched her own foundation last month. It is called Fightstory and she describes it as a ‘A Mental Health Nonprofit Organization.’
In May she participated in a 5k walk in New York City to pay tribute to her sister, Victoria Lee, and Hawaiian climber Seongtae Cho who had both lost their lives in tragic circumstances.
We don’t know whether Angela plans to continue her MMA career or not, although she is expected to release a statement towards the end of the week. But she is clearly set to continue raising money and awareness for charitable causes that are close to her heart.
