Anissa Meksen is normally extremely active on social media. But heading into her mixed rules fight with Stamp Fairtex at ONE on Prime Video 6 next month the French fighter has been keeping herself to herself.

The French fighter will be competing under MMA rules for the first time, assuming the fight goes as far as the second round. But if she has been working hard on her ground game Meksen has certainly been keeping it quiet.

Perhaps the plan is for her to knock Stamp out in the opening round, so that her grappling skills don’t get tested. Or perhaps she has been working tirelessly behind closed doors to ensure she is ready to take on the MMA veteran.

But Meksen broke her silence this week to warn the French fighter that ‘the war is coming’:

Mixed rules

Meksen has been calling out reigning atomweight Muay Thai and kickboxing champion Janet Todd for over a year now. She has won three fights out of three for ONE Championship and all those contests were extremely one sided.

But instead of the title shot she had been handed a mixed rules fight with Stamp Fairtex, in only the second time the promotion has put on one of these contests. At ONE: ‘X’ earlier this year Demetrious Johnson submitted Rodtang Jitmuangnon in the second round.

The fight between Stamp and Meksen will have an identical ruleset. The first round will be Muay Thai, the second round will be MMA and the match will alternate between the two sports.

Four rounds

In total there will be four rounds. Meksen has no previous experience of MMA whereas Stamp is a veteran of 11 fights who holds a BJJ purple belt and won the ONE Championship atomweight Grand Prix earlier this year.

So Stamp is much more experienced in MMA terms. But in Muay Thai the two fighters look extremely well matched with Stamp the former ONE Championship atomweight Muay Thai and kickboxing champion.

Meanwhile Meksen is probably the top contender for both belts at present. Two of her ONE Championship wins have come under Muay Thai rules while the other was in a kickboxing bout.

Getting submitted by Stamp Fairtex shouldn’t have any bearing on Meksen’s status as a top contender. But she won’t want to ruin her 100% winning record with ONE Championship and has warned the Thai fighter to be ready for war.
