ONE Championship will return to the Impact Arena in Bangkok on January 14th. The card will feature a mixed rules fight pitting Stamp Fairtex against Anissa Meksen.

Both Stamp and Meksen are highly experienced in Muay Thai and kickboxing. But the fight will feature different rules in different rounds with at least five minutes of MMA, a sport the French fighter has never competed in.

Stamp has plenty of MMA experience and holds a 8-2 record in addition to being the former ONE Championship atomweight Muay Thai and kickboxing champion. Meksen has enjoyed plenty of successive in the latter two sports but has never competed in the former.

The format of the fight is not entirely clear but will probably be similar to the mixed rules fight between Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Demetrious Johnson which took place at ONE: ‘X’.

Double booking

Meksen already has one fight booked. She is taking on Daokongfah Banchamek at ONE on Prime Video 2 in Singapore on September 30th, the second in this series of events.

The fight with Meksen is booked for ONE on Prime Video 6. It will take place on a Saturday morning (local time) in order to accommodate the prime time Friday night US broadcast audience.

The card is also set to feature Nong-O Gaiyanghadao and Rodtang Jitmuangnon. The former is likely to be defending his bantamweight Muay Thai belt while the latter should be putting his flyweight Muay Thai title on the line.

But the matchmakers appear to be thinking outside of the box for this one so it is also possible Rodtang could be handed another mixed rules fight. Newly crowned interim atomweight Muay Thai champion Smilla Sundel is also  likely to be on the card.
