When most fighters sign with a new promotion they talk about winning a title. Not Anissa Meksen though, the French fighter told media this morning she wants to win four!

Meksen meets Cristina Morales at ONE: ‘Empower’ this Friday. And the photogenic French fighter revealed she has big ambitions,

“I’m looking to fight and get the belts in Muay Thai and kickboxing at both 52kgs and 56kgs.”

Long wait

No-one has ever managed four titles with ONE Championship before. But Meksen is excited to be making her debut after a long delay,

“I’m very proud to be competing in ONE Championship and to be on this stage. I’m relieved to be fighting because I’ve been waiting to fight for a year and a half and I really want to do this.”

She already has an impressive collection of titles. Meksen was a WPMF and WBC champion in Muay Thai and a WAKO, ISKA, and Glory champion in kickboxing. She won those titles while weighing in at anything from 52 to 56kgs.

New belt

But the ONE Championship title is missing from her collection and she really wants to add it,

“It’s extremely important for me to win the ONE Championship title, I really want this one and I’m going to do everything I can to get it.”

The 33 year old knows that having spent over a year on the sidelines she has a lot of time to make up for. She is hoping to make an immediate impact at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Friday,

“I want to make an impact. I want to show the world how good I am so people can remember me.”

Fast finish

The best possible way to introduce herself to ONE Championship fans would with a KO win against the Spanish star and that is exactly what Meksen has in mind,

“I respect my competitors but I’m looking for the KO, I want to make it fast and quick. I’m not going to wait.”

Meksen is certainly not lacking in confidence. The French fighter has the titles to back up her bold claims and she only has one thing in mind now that she’s signed with ONE Championship,

“I’m going to show the world that I’m the best.”
