Aung La Nsang ‘very sad’ as Aung San Suu Kyi sentenced
For fight fans Aung La Nsang is the face of Myanmar. He has a huge fan following there and the mixed martial artist has shared his opinion on the four year prison sentence handed to Aung San Suu Kyi.
La Nsang shared an AP article which denounced the trial as ‘politically motivated’ and expressed his sadness:

ONE Championship has held nine events in Myanmar but the most recent was in 2018. In February the Burmese army staged a coup, with democratically elected leader Suu Kyi subsequently arrested on a flimsy pretext.
In 2017 La Nsang met with Suu Kyi and they were photographed together. He remains an iconic figure in Myanamar despite having not fought there in over three years.
