At one stage Aung La Nsang was ONE Championship’s biggest star. The Burmese star has a big following in the county of his birth but will be fighting in the country he calls home next month.

La Nsang faces Fan Rong at ONE Fight Night 10. Having fought all over Asia for the promotion he is excited to be competing in his adopted home,

“It’s going to be very exciting to fight in front of my family, in front of some of the U.S. fans. I’m excited to put on a great show. It’s going to be exciting.”

High elevation

While he doesn’t have to travel too far the 1st Bank Centre is 1,652 metres above sea level. It is the first time ONE Championship has put on a card at high elevation and La Nsang has made some specific preparations,

“To get acclimated to the elevation, I have everything in place. I’m going to go there a little early. As far as nutrition goes, I’m gonna be taking some supplements, like beetroot juice and stuff like that. I don’t want to give all the details, but I think I’ll be good.”

La Nsang trains out of Kill Cliff MMA, formerly known as Sanford MMA, and says his team is accustomed to preparing fighters for bouts at high elevation,

“My cardio will be on point. I have a professional team of guys that helps me acclimate to the elevation. I’ve done my research on this, and I’m going to be professional about it.”

Superman knee

It sounds like he knows exactly how he is going to finish Rong but La Nsang had his tongue firmly in his cheek when he claimed,

“I’m going to do a hook kick and a jumping kick to the body. Finish him with a superman flying knee.”

But joking aside the Burmese fighter wants the finish. He is coming off a big first round stoppage win at ONE Fight Night 6 and wants to make it two in a row in Denver next month.

“I’m looking for a finish. Honestly, I’m looking for a grand finish. If the submission is there, I’ll take it, but I’m not going to force anything. I’m just going to look to break him and outwork him. I’ll just break him.”
