Two former team mates will collide at Heat 45 on July 28th. Seiji Akao is booked to face Takeshi Kasugai at the Nagoya International Convention Centre.

According to MMA Planet the two are former training partners although they are now based at different camps. Both have held Heat titles in the past, albeit in different divisions.

Takeshi Kasugai (23-6-1-1) is the former Heat flyweight champion. He captured the title in 2016 and defended it successfully once before moving up to challenge at 135lbs.

The 30 year old is coming off a submission win over Shunichi Shimizu at Heat 44 in March. He finished the UFC veteran with a guillotine choke just 28 seconds into the opening round and faces another experienced opponent in July.

Seiji Akao (25-13-3) is the former Heat bantamweight champion. He won that belt in 2016 but came short in his second title defense last year, dropping a decision to Myung-Gu Kim.

Myung-Gu (10-4) will be making the second defense of that title on this card. The identity of his opponent will be disclosed at a later date.
