Rizin Landmark 1 is set for October 2nd in Tokyo. The venue for this behind closed doors event has not been revealed but it will feature a lightweight fight between Mikuru Asakura and Kyohei Hagiwara.

The Rizin Landmark series will be held at different locations all over the country. There will be no live audience but the events will be streamed live by U-Next in Japan.

The concept is for events to take place at Japanese landmarks, hence the name. The inaugural event features Asakura who has emerged as one of Rizin’s most marketable fighters.

Asakura (14-3-0-1) has over 1.8 million subscribers to his YouTube channel. But he has lost two out of his last three fights and was submitted by Kleber Koike Erbst at Rizin 28.

Hagiwara (4-3) has won three fights out of four since signing for the promotion last year and has been rewarded with a shot at one of the biggest names on the roster. He stopped kickboxing veteran Ren Hiramoto in the second round last time out.

Veteran Masakazu Imanari (38-20-2) has been handed a quick turnaround after his elimination from the bantamweight Grand Prix. The 45 year old faces Takeshi Kasugai (26-8-1-1) who also crashed out of the tournament in the opening round.

Two more fighters who couldn’t make it past the opening round of the bantamweight Grand Prix will also be in action on October 2nd. Shooto Watanabe (22-6-6-1) has been be matched with Kuya Ito (10-7-1)
