Demetrious Johnson will face Adriano Moraes for the third time in a fight which will headline ONE Championship’s US debut. The two men will face off at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado on May 5th.
Johnson (24-4-1) is regarded as being the best flyweight of all time. He successfully defended his UFC 125lbs belt 11 times, a promotional record, before signing for ONE Championship in a swap with Ben Askren.
He won the flyweight Grand Prix to earn a shot at champion Adriano Moraes. But Johnson came up short first time around, getting stopped by the Brazilian in the second round at ONE on TNT in 2021.
Johnson would get his revenge at ONE on Prime Video 1 earlier this year. He finished Moreas with a flying knee in the second round to capture the second title of his career.
Moraes (20-4) saw his three fight winning streak ended that night. He will be looking to become the ONE Championship flyweight title holder for the fourth time.

Prime time
This will be the first time that ONE Championship has promoted an event outside of Asia. Chatri Sityodtong promised fans ‘an unforgettable show’,

We are very grateful for the support of the state athletic commission and look forward to putting on an unforgettable show for our passionate fanbase in the U.S. and watching around the world,” he said.
ONE on Prime Video 5 took place in Manila last Saturday. In the main event Anatoly Malykhin knocked out Reinier de Ridder in the opening round to win the light heavyweight title.
The promotion signed a deal with Amazon Prime earlier this year that sees events broadcast live on the platform in North America every month. The likes of Angela Lee, John Lineker and Christian Lee have headlined previous cards which always take place on Friday night (US time).
