Eddie Alvarez has taken to Twitter to lend his support to Cain Velasquez. The former UFC heavyweight champion is currently in custody charged with attempted murder.
Alvarez has come out in support of Velasquez:
The justice system failed Cain Valasquez and his family … any normal man would do the same . If the justice system did their job properly he wouldn’t have had the opportunity to do what he did . My heart is with him and his loved ones and I stand with them . #FreeCain

Alvarez is the former UFC and Bellator lightweight champion. He is the latest in a long line of fighters to come out in support of Velasquez.
Velasquez was a two time UFC heavyweight champion although he hasn’t competed in MMA since 2019. The 39 year old was arrested earlier this week in relation to a shooting in San Jose.
According to reports Velasquez shot at a car which was carrying Harry Eugene Goularte, who is facing criminal charges for molesting one of the mixed martial artists relatives. People in the MMA community have been rallying around the former heavyweight champ.
Alvarez seems to think Velasquez’s actions were justified. Where do you stand?
