Four titles on the line at Lumpinee birthday show
December is always a treat for Muay Thai fans in Bangkok with both main stadiums holding their annual birthday shows. First off is the Lumpinee extravaganza on Friday which and features a stellar line up with four titles up for grabs.
The highlight of the show is the main event that pits Petchsaman Sor Samangarment against Prajanchai PKSaenchaigym. The former has exploded to the forefront of the scene in recent months after a 19 fight winning streak and looks unstoppable.
Prajanchai represents his biggest test to date though. The former Lumpinee and Rajadamnern champion has been away from the stadiums for a while but has been staying active fighting under amateur boxing rules.
The first of the titles on the line is the vacant Lumpinee 105lbst title which will be contested by Petchmalai Petchjaroenwit and Phon Paranchai in the evening’s openeer.
Two big names will face off for the vacant Thailand 122lbs strap when Kompetch Sitsarawatsua faces Peankon Diamond98. Two vacant Lumpinee straps are also on the line when Wiw Petchsakon facing Worawut Baoweejeans at 126lbs and Singhalek Sor Chokmeechai takes on Rak Erawan at 108lbs.
French superstar Rafi Bohic also gets the opportunity to star on the biggest Lumpinee show of the year, when he takes on old foe Chujaroen Darpransarakham in a non title bout.
Bohic was quoted in the past as saying Chujaroen was his toughest opponent so far after losing to him twice. The Frenchman has been the busier of the two in recent months and will be hoping his opponent is suffering from ring rust.
