A surprise guest at Rizin 16 last Sunday was reigning Road FC atomweight champion Ham Seo-Hee. The UFC veteran was ringside in Kobe and announced she wants to fight for the Japanese promotion in July.
In the past we have seen Road FC fighters like Soo Chul Kim compete on Rizin cards. However Ham is not just the Korean promotion’s 105lbs title holder, she is also one of the biggest starts on the roster.
Ham witnessed two super atomweight (108lbs) fights at Rizin 16. Ayaka Hamasaki defended her title with a decision win over Jinh Yu Frey while Miyuu Yamamoto outpointed former challenger Kanna Asakura.
There are plenty of potential opponents for the 32 year old on the Rizin roster. But there are also question marks as to whether she plans to continue competing for Road FC or will ply her trade in Japan.
Hee is coming off a decision win over Jung Eun Park at Road FC 51. She also stopped Invicta FC 105lbs champion Jinh at Road FC 45 and has won three fights out of three for the Korean promotion.
Rizin 17 is set for the Saitama Super Arena on July 28th and will feature the likes of Ulka Sasaki, Shintaro Ishiwatari, Yuki Motoya, Hiromasa Ogikubo, Yusuke Yachi and Mikuru Asakura.
