Deep is putting on back to back fight cards this month. On Sunday the Japanese promotion is heading to Hamamatsu for an event that will be headlined by a heavyweight clash between Hideki Sekine and Mitsuyoshi Nakai.
Sekine (7-3) is a decorated grappler but is coming off a less than impressive stint with ONE Championship where he challenged unsuccessfully for the heavyweight title. The 46 year old faces Nakai (1-4) who hasn’t won a fight since 2007.
While Sekine is surely coming to the end of his career the card does feature one up and coming prospect. Taka Tsugu is undefeated in nine bouts for Wardog Cage Fights and makes his Deep debut.
Tsugu (8-0-1) will be looking to establish himself as a top contender in the 145lbs division. But he does not look to be in for too stern a test as he faces featherweight journeyman Taku Max (3-8-1).
Last Sunday Deep 91 took place in Tokyo. Takafumi Otsuka beat Rikuto Shirakawa in the main event.
