Jarred Brooks is working his way through the top ranked ONE Championship strawweights but seems more interested in the current flyweight champion. Him and Adriano Moraes have engaged in a war of words and things appear to be escalating rapidly.

Moraes doesn’t seem to think much of the American. According to Sports Keeda he said,

“Jarred Brooks is a sucker! A loudmouth! As soon as I got to American Top Team, I did some training with him. He likes to say he controlled me, but he never said how many times I submitted him. I submitted him several times. And, amazingly, I never met him in the sparring days. Sparring day, he always ran. He’s a sucker! If I get the chance, I’ll put my hand on his face.”

Brooks remembers training with the Brazilian but denies that he was ever submitted by Moraes:

At ONE: ‘X’ next month the Brazilian is defending his flyweight belt against Yuya Wakamatsu. Brooks doesn’t currently have a fight booked but, after winning two bouts in quick succession, he is expected to challenge for the strawweight strap next.

A move up to flyweight might not be completely out of the question though and Moraes confirmed he would be more than happy to fight his former training partner,

“He’s a talker. I am here. He’s only got two fights and he’s already talking s**t. Let’s see if he can handle the pressure going forward. Let’s see if this fight will happen in the future. I’m here ready for anything.”
