John Wayne Parr will face Nieky Holzken at ONE on TNT Part III. The event is set to be broadcast in the US on April 21st and will feature a lightweight kickboxing contest between two K-1 Max veterans.
Holzken has been a kickboxer throughout his career and is a former Glory welterweight champion, winning the promotion’s 170lbs title in 2015. He has challenged unsuccessfully for the ONE Championship featherweight title on two occasions.
By contrast Parr has spent the majority of his career competing in Muay Thai, winning numerous world titles and facing the likes of Yodsanklai Fairtex and Buakaw Por Pramuk. He was one of the first promoters to put on Caged Muay Thai events and both men will be wearing MMA gloves in this fight.
The event will be headlined by a heavyweight fight between Amir Aliakbari (10-1) and Anatoly Malykhin (8-0). Both men were in action at ONE: ‘Fists of Fury’ Part II which is being broadcast next week.
Also added to the card is a welterweight bout pitting Yoshihiro Akiyama (15-7) against Mohammad Karaki (9-1). The latter returns after a two year absence, suffering the first loss of his career at the hands of Aung La Nsang in 2018.
