Jonathan Haggerty is the name on everyone’s lips. The Englishman produced a memorable upset at ONE Fight Night 9 last weekend, finishing Nong-O Gaiyanghadao in the first round to become the promotion’s bantamweight Muay Thai champion.
Liam Harrison has made it very clear he would like to face Haggerty although he is currently sidelined with a serious knee injury. Fabricio Andrade has also called him out posting a homemade photo on Instagram that featured three potential bantamweight opponents.
Andrade is interested in fighting #2 ranked Stephen Loman, reigning kickboxing champion Petchtanong Petchfergus and newly crowned Muay Thai champion Haggerty.

Come and get it
Liam Harrison has also made it clear that he wants the fight before Haggerty knocked out Nong-O at ONE Fight Night 9 last weekend. Speaking before the fight he speculated about the possibility of the two men fighting in London.
The message received a stamp of approval from Chatri Sityotdtong who told Harrison to ‘stay tuned’. Unfortunately the former bantamweight title challenger is still sidelined after undergoing knee surgery.
But Haggerty made it clear he was interested in that fight and also mentioned three other potential opponents,
Liam Harrison if you want if you can get it. Felipe Lobo I’ll punch holes through you. If they (Superlek and Rodtang) want it they can get it also.

Lucrative win
Haggerty was in the ring for less than three minutes and picked up $50,000 USD worth of bonuses. So he won’t need to spend too long recovering and recuperating after what turned out to be a quick, and lucrative, night’s work.
The Englishman previously held the promotion’s flyweight title but lost that after back to back defeats at the hands of Rodtang. He missed weight ahead of his bantamweight debut earlier this year and it was a surprise when he was handed a title shot.
But Haggerty shocked the world by becoming the first ever fighter to beat Nong-O on a ONE Championship card. Among the people congratulating him on Instagram was Arsenal player Reiss Nelson.
The Englishman clearly has a big fanbase in his homeland. But regardless of whether he gets to fight there on a ONE Championship card there are plenty of options out there for the newly crowned bantamweight champion.
