One of the hottest prospects in all of MMA is in Phuket. Khamzat Chimaev is training at Tiger Muay Thai and will be rubbing shoulders with several elite Russian UFC fighters.
Petr Yan is currently at Tiger Muay Thai preparing for his bantamweight title unification bout with Aljamain Sterling at UFC 273 while Rafael Fiziev is in Phuket to train for a bout with Rafael Dos Anjos at UFC Fight Night 201. Anatoly Malykhin is also there ahead of his rearranged ONE Championship heavyweight title bout.
Chimaev doesn’t currently have a fight booked but the undefeated Swedish fighter, whose roots are in Russia, is widely regarded as being the most exciting up and coming fighter on the UFC roster. Last time out he submitted Jingliang Li in the opening round at UFC 267.
It will certainly be a change of climate for the 27 year old. He has swapped the middle of the Swedish winter for Phuket during the dry season.
