Kyung Ho Kang will be back in action on June 17th. He has been booked to face Christian Quinonez at UFC on ESPN 47 which looks likely to be held at the Apex Centre in Las Vegas.
Kang (18-9-0-1) is coming off a decision win over Batgerel Danaa at UFC 275 in Singapore. He has not fought in nearly a year and appears to have taken some time off following the birth of his child.
Kang has won four out of his last five fights but has not always managed to compete regularly. He has been on the UFC roster since 2013 but missed several years due to military service and did not fight at all in 2020.
He is not currently in the top 15 at bantamweight despite some strong recent form and has been matched with an unranked opponent at UFC on ESPN 47. Quinonez (17-3) earned his UFC contract after impressing at Dana White’s Contender Series.
He had a debut to remember, stopping Khalid Taha in the opening round at UFC Paris. The Mexican faces a step up against the highly experienced Kang, who has been on the roster for an entire decade.
