Adrian Mattheis has a new opponent at ONE: ‘Masters of Destiny’. The experienced Indonesian strawweight will now be matched with Li Zhe at the Axiata Arena on Friday night.
The original opponent, Liu Peng Shuai, withdrew from the fight with Mattheis due to undisclosed reasons. He has been replaced by his compatriot Zhe, who burst to prominence competing in ONE Hero Series.
Zhe (5-1-2) is a veteran of four ONE Hero Series fights and this will be his fifth bout of the year. Meanwhile Mattheis (8-4) will be looking to establish his title credentials in a crowded strawweight division with a fourth straight win.
The Indonesian is a veteran of ten ONE Championship fights. He lost his first three bouts for the promotion but then bounced back to win six out of his next seven fights with all but one of those wins coming inside the distance.
As previously announced Petchmorrakot Petchyindee and Giorgio Petrosyan will meet again at ONE: ‘Masters of Destiny’. The Thai won the first fight by decision only to see the result controversially overturned a few days later.
The card also features Angela Lee. She will go up against former Evolve MMA training partner and team mate Michelle Nicolini in a strawweight fight while Ev Ting faces UFC veteran Daichi Abe in the lightweight division.
