Last month Lisa Kyriacou made her ONE Championship debut. It went well for the Australian who earned a unanimous decision over much hyped strawweight prospect Nat Wondergirl.
Back in her native Melbourne the 29 year old is celebrating in style. Having spent her entire career competing at 125lbs it is possible Kyriacou had to diet strictly in order to make the strawweight limit,
If that is the case she is making up for it now. Kyriacou shared a video of her getting stuck into some expensive looking drinks and deserts and made it clear she was celebrating her win at ONE Friday Fights 26.

Bigger opportunities
We don’t know how much the Australian got paid for her win at ONE Friday Fights 26. But she was clearly determined to spend some of that money on a night out that involved champagne, oysters and enough desserts to ensure she probably won’t be fighting at strawweight again for the next few weeks.
But while this is clearly the biggest win of Kyriacou’s career it could lead to even bigger opportunities. ONE Championship’s strawweight division is not exactly stacked and the Australian just took out one of the main contenders to extend her winning streak to seven.
There can’t be anyone on the main roster or in the ONE Friday Fights pool of fighters with a more compelling case for a shot at reigning strawweight champion Xiong Jing Nan. The Chinese fighter has taken out almost everyone in the division and is coming off a win over atomweight queen Angela Lee.

Different challenge
ONE Championship has found Xiong a different challenge. She will be facing Wondergirl in a boxing match at ONE Fight Night 14 with both fighters wearing MMA gloves.
It will be the first time that ONE Championship has promoted a fight under this ruleset. It means Xiong is unlikely to be defending her strawweight title again this year.
So there should be plenty of time for Kyriacou to establish her credentials with another win. But right now she looks like the most suitable contender in the division so the Australian has plenty to celebrate and seems to be doing so in style!
