There have been some major changes at Matrix Fight Night this week. The promotion is owned and operated by the Shroff family and they remain in charge.
The key players are Krishna Shroff (pictured), Tiger Shroff and Ayesha Shroff. But this week the promotion parted ways with its Director of Operations and also announced a split from the sanctioning body it had previously been working with.
Alan Fenandes has been the Matrix Fight Night Director of Operations since the promotion’s inception and had a similar role with the Super Fight League. He appears to have been in charge of the matchmaking but has been relieved of these responsibilities with a brisk statement from Ayesha Shroff reading that,
We have officially disassociated ourselves and parted ways with Alan Fenandes, AIMMII and GAMMAF.

Sanctioning body
Matrix Fight Night had been working with two obscure sanctioning bodies called GAMMAF and AIMMAF. The former was founded by Daniel Isaacs, a retired Indian kickboxer who used to be Fernandes’ coach.
Isaacs also appears to be involved in AIMMAF and it seems as if the two governing bodies share the same ownership. Neither of them appears to be working with any promotions apart from Matrix Fight Night.
But that relationship is also at an end. It isn’t clear which, if any, sanctioning body the promotion will work with moving forwards but it is clear that the Shroffs are going to be very hands on.
Ayesha Shroff says that her and her daughter are now in charge of the matchmaking and selection of officials,
Going forward, all communication regarding Matrix Fight Night, including future fight cards and matchups, as well as selection of officials, will be discussed and confirmed by myself and Krishna only.

Awkward moment
There was an awkward moment for mother and daughter last year. Krishna’s boyfriend, Abdul Azim Badakhshi, was caught on camera leading a mob of Afghans which attacked an Indian fighter at Matrix Fight Night 9.
In the aftermath Ayesha announced that all Afghan fighters, including her daughter’s boyfriend, were banned from competing on Matrix Fight Night cards. Badakhshi recently signed on for the Road to UFC tournament so he appears to have landed on his feet and it looks like the Shroff’s are going to be even busier than before running and operating India’s leading MMA promotion.
