Mizuke Hirota, Ham Seo Hee added to Rizin 17 card
Two more fights were added to the Rizin 17 card today. Mizuke Hirota faces Roberto de Souza in the lightweight division while Ham Seo Hee has been matched with Tomo Maesawa in a super atomweight fight.
Seo Hee (20-8) is the reigning Road FC 105lbs champion. She will be making her promotional debut at the Saitama Super Arena on July 28th and has been matched with Japanese veteran Maesawa (12-9).
The Japanese fighter is coming off a decision loss to Kanna Asakura at Deep-Jewels 23 and, like Seo Hee, she is making her Rizin debut. The Korean has won three fights in a row since being released from the UFC following two decision defeats.
Hirota (18-10-2) is also a UFC veteran. The former Deep and Sengoku lightweight champion will be making his Rizin debut and has been matched with de Souza (8-0). The Brazilian is a decorated BJJ black belt who is undefeated in MMA.
Meanwhile Vitaly Shemetov’s fight with Jake Heun was confirmed by the promotion today. The Russian heavyweight announced yesterday that his longstanding wish to fight for Rizin had finally been granted.
